Rental Conditions:

To hire a vehicle, you must be between the ages of 19 and 75 years of age and be a holder of a valid international driver’s license for the past 2 years, and have no endorsements.

A duplicate of your international ID, driving permit, full contact details, and a full advance payment of 30% of the total amount to affirm your booking and reserve the car for the specified period. The balance could be collected on the collection of the vehicle. Additional money deposits may be required under certain uncommon circumstances.

Driving Permit & Age

Drivers might as well provide a valid national or international driver’s permit held at least two years and minimum 21 years age for groups Economy to Wagon, 25 years of age and minimum of 3 years of driver’s license for group Standard and higher, 28+ years of age for group Luxury or higher. Assuming that you are over 75 years of age please inform us, age limitations may apply in certain areas.

Minimum Rental Period

The minimum rental is 24 hours. Any rental period not less than 24 hours requires an entire day rate.

Rates Include / Rates Exclude

Rates incorporate Unlimited kilometer, VAT 18%, local taxes, oil, maintenance, 24 hours road assistance. Exceptional rates and terms may seek long term rentals (minimum 30 days).

Rates Exclude Fuel, Personal insurance (PAI), one-way rental fees (where applicable), discretionary additional items (extra drivers, infant/child seat, special equipment, and discretionary insurance), parking expenses, and highway.

Additional Drivers

Rental cars may be driven by a maximum of 2 additional drivers apart from the main driver. Charges often apply for extra drivers which may be bought at the time of reservation. Extra drivers may as well meet age and license requirements at the time of rental, likewise ought to be registered in the rental agreement. In the event that any accident happens while a non-registered driver is driving the rental car insurance will be void.

Child booster seats

Upon request at the time of booking infant/child/booster seats are available at an extra cost up to USD 5.00 every day depending on the number of rental days.

Flight Information

It is the client’s obligation to give the correct flight number and landing time, before takeoff. Assuming that this information is not available at the time of booking, please ensure that you will inform us of this at least seven days prior to departure. In the event that the information is not provided in time, no obligation could be accepted or compensation allowed for a failed rental. This is to allow staff to be ready for you on arrival.

Delivery & Collection

There is no delivery and collection expense at the cities where Proper Car Rental offices are throughout the office working hours. When you have to pick up/drop off from a hotel, accommodation address or out of city limits or office hours, there may be a fee applies EU 0.50 for every Km to the closest Proper office.

Car Groups/Models

Specific makes and models of vehicles are not guaranteed. The requested group and determinations (e.g. Compact A/c manual) might be guaranteed. Rental Cars Uganda reserves all authority to substitute the car type reserved to a similar or higher car group, under circumstances beyond control.

Delayed Return/early Return

Delayed Return: For each hour the charge is 1/3 of the daily rate, assuming that it’s more than 3 hours then it will be counted as an extra day.

Early Return: There are no refunds given for vehicles returned before the specified return date/time written in the rental agreement.

Condition of Vehicle

The vehicle ought to be returned in the same condition it is rented. Assuming that special cleaning is obliged it may be charged at return.

Fuel Policy

Vehicles are not given a full tank, so the customer might as well return the car as it is rented. Assuming that the car is returned with more fuel than at pick up, there will be no refund. However, customers may ask for a prepaid full tank around then of booking.

Traffic Fines

Legal obligations coming about because of traffic violations incurred during the rental period must be paid by the renter for all self-drive customers.

Cancellation Policy

In the tragic occasion that you need to drop your rental, Rental Cars Uganda will impose a charge for the cancellation of your booking before your collection date (see underneath).

No refunds will be given for rentals ended early, for late collections, for no shows, or for cancellations made after the rental start date. All cancellations must be made in writing, sent us an email on info@rentalcarsuganda.com OR Calls us on +256.
