Welcome to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your 3 days Uganda gorilla tracking adventure offers you a chance to track the rare mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to over 400 of these critically endangered apes while in their natural habitat. Bwindi National Park covers an area of 331 square kilometers and lies in the south-western side of Uganda.
This park features afro montane lowland forest whose existence dates back to the ice age. Besides the rare mountain gorillas, Bwindi also offers refuge to numerous species some of which include over 163 tree species, 140 fern, 16 flora species that are restricted to southwestern Uganda, 300 avian species, seven diurnal primates, more than 120 mammal species, and 202 species of butterflies as well as the rare L’Hoests monkeys, chimpanzees and many more. Gorilla tracking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is conducted in 4 (four) areas of the Buhoma sector that features 3 habituated groups (Mubare, Rushegura, and Habinyanja), Ruhija region (Oruzogo, Bitukura, and Kyaguriro), Rushaga that features 5 groups of Mishaya, Bweza, Busingye, Kahungye, Nshongi) and the Nkuringo group that features only Nkuringo.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi National Park
You will have breakfast early in the morning in your respective hotel and after you will be transferred to Bwindi National Park about 8-10 hours, approximately 527 kilometers’ drive. You will embark on the Kampala-Mbarara route where you will have a stopover at the Equator crossing at Kayabwe for photo taking and traditional lunch at Igongo cultural center. After you will set off to Bwindi National Park and upon arrival, you have dinner and night stay over at Chameleon Hill Lodge, Gorilla Mist Camp, or Broadbill Forest Camp.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will gather plus other visitors at the park headquarters for an early morning briefing on how you should behave while in the forest. After, you will set off to the forest to look out for the gorilla family that will be assigned to you by the park office to track in a group of eight (8) visitors. You will hike for about 1 to 8 hours and only one hour is given to you to have a face to face encounter with these unique creatures while they are in their natural habitat.
While with these rare species, you explore their behavior, take as many photos as you can for memories. However, make sure that you maintain a distance of 7 to 8 meters away from the gorillas at all times. After, you will return to the lodge for a short rest and later set off for an afternoon visit to the Batwa community where you will have a chance to enjoy traditional songs and dancing styles. After, you will retreat to your respective for dinner and night stay as on day 1.
Day 3: Return to Entebbe
Following breakfast in the morning, you will set off to Kampala/Entebbe. You will go via the spectacular Kigezi highlands prior to proceeding to southwestern to Ntungamo. You will have a stopover at Igongo cultural center for lunch and photo taking and then proceed to Kampala/Entebbe which will mark the end of your 3 days gorilla trekking safari in Uganda.
