Monkey tracking: This is where you set off from your lodge in the morning or afternoon and you enter deep in the forest with a guide in such for monkeys and different primates. The forest is home to 9 different species of primates and the most common one is the Uganda Mangabey Monkey.
Bird Watching: Mabira forest being home to over 300 different species of birds, makes bird watching one of the main tourist activities done here. Bird watching/birding is where a tourist who is mostly interested in seeing birds enter the forest with his guide and binoculars in search of birds as they listen to different bird calls so that they can identify which bird is that.

If you continue to the northeastern part of the country, there is Kidepo Valley National Park in the rugged, semi-arid valleys on the border of South Sudan and Kenya, it is located about 700km away from Kampala Uganda’s capital. The park is home to a variety of big games, with over 77 mammal species as well as around 475 bird species. This makes it a perfect travel destination for both wildlife and bird loves.
The park can be visited throughout the year, although conditions in the park are harder during the rainy season and it’s always advisable to use a 4×4 safari vehicle during the rainy season.
